Our client, who is a leader in the financial services industry, seeks a Managing Director, Head of US Indices. The company provides independent data, valuations and trade processing across all asset classes in order to enhance transparency, reduce risk and improve operational efficiency. Its client base includes the most significant institutional participants in the financial market place.
Job Description:
The individual will head the Indices business in the US, covering credit derivatives, loan, structured finance, bond, and equity indices. In this role, the individual will be responsible for the governance, new product development, marketing, and revenues of the indices, and to establish Indices as the premier index provider in the US market for the chosen asset classes and markets. The individual will be part of senior management of Indices and be a key participant in setting and implementing the strategy of the business. The individual will be supported by teams covering Index Design, Index Administration, and Index Technology located globally.
Required Skills:
The individual will work closely with dealers, asset managers, other clients, and the press to identify and promote business opportunities and grow the business. The indices should improve the company`s relationships with the clients and provide brand exposure, by being of high quality and sufficiently differentiated from the competition.
A large part of the job will be working with dealers on the various governance boards to establish a credible index offering that competes successfully with incumbents, or defend markets where the company is the incumbent market leader. A detailed technical knowledge of bond and credit indices is required, as well as a keen commercial sense and ability to lead others. Teams the individual will work with are the US CDS and Structured Finance Index teams (CDX, MCDX, ABX, CMBX) and the equity index group. In the US, the three staff responsible for the existing bond and credit derivative indices will report directly to the new hire. The individual needs to be energetic, a team player, and bond/credit index expert with technical knowledge.
